"An Epic Creative Misadventure Leads to Brilliance" with RELICS & ARTIFACTS® Ambassador Chrissy Colon

Finally!  I have finally dressed up my own Cassopeia's Throne!  Why the big deal?  Well, you see, it started with an idea, a grand idea.  It was an idea that would surely test my creative skills and patience like no other project had ever done.

I could see it so vividly in my mind's eye.  A throne inspired by the whimsy of fairies in their secret world.  Vivid colors, moss, flower elements and big, huge butterfly wings unfolding from the back of a throne meant for a true fairy queen.  I had my wings painted and then I cut the butterfly piece in half.  The throne was primed and ready for it's featured adornment.  I was so excited.  I had it all planned out.  I was going attach these heavy wings with Apoxie Sculpt and make it seamless.  It was to be glorious!

But then, Apoxie Sculpt combined with a touch of frustration happened.  The entire project was ruined.  The "seamless" Apoxie Sculpt adhesion mixed with a layer of industrial glue underneath didn't look much like the throne for a queen.  It looked.......more like a tumor.  So into the trash it went.  The whole entire thing was tossed, admittedly, with much relief.  The only regret I have is not having any photos to show you.

Why tell you all of that?  Well, because had it not been for THAT hot mess of chaos, swearing, and maniacal laughing, THIS would not have been born!

Simple, regal, familiar and utterly beautiful, this is my second throw-down with the throne and I OWNED it!  My latest obsession with beading really came to the rescue here.

Covered with the copper VerDay paint and adorned with iridescent taupe and light green beads, this throne, which I have yet to name (and I'm open to suggestions), is fit for any royal backside.

Speaking of backside, take a look at the backside on this baby!  The delicate twists and turns of the design just made a perfect map to follow when laying the bead work down.  Bohemian Jewels  accent the junctures and pivots perfectly without being overbearing.  Definitely the complete opposite of my butterfly tumor wings from the first attempt.

Sometimes, the best outcomes are a result from the worst attempts.  But worry not!  Apoxie Sculpt, I will own you.  Just not today.
