"Hello Spring!" with RELICS & ARTIFACTS® Ambassador Monica Downing
Spring, my favorite season. I look forward to it every year. This year though, I must say, we have had a very mild winter, but I am still looking just as excited for Spring to arrive!
I live in the Ozark Mountains in northwest Arkansas and when Spring rolls in, it does not mess around. It goes from brown to explosions of bright green and wild flowers in every color of the rainbow in such a short time, and it stays that way most of the year. It’s like mother nature on crack around here! I live in a very wooded area so all of the color is such an amazing contrast against the browns of the trees.
The wood bark and sticks came from my front yard. We had a big line of thunderstorms come through last week and when I was walking to my car to go to work the morning after, I saw these amazing pieces of bark with moss and natural fungus and the idea for this project just evolved from there. This piece is my way of sharing that beauty with everyone.
The flowers you see in this project are actually the toppers from some of the Relics & Artifacts Chandelier Pendants. I KNOW!!! SO COOL RIGHT???
I really hope seeing this piece brings some Springtime beauty your way and hopefully it will inspire you to create something using items from nature that is all around you. It is a great way to bring the outdoors in.
Oh! And stay tuned because I will be using the actual Chandelier pieces in an upcoming project and I can’t wait to show you!
