BEST OF WHERE WOMEN CREATE THEN and NOW

I am honored to be a part of WHERE WOMEN CREATE magazines. I have had the unique privilege of being a Contributing Editor since it’s inception. This is a Very Special Issue featuring artists you are familiar with following how their careers and personal studios have evolved. I hope you enjoy this issue as much as I have!!

Traveling back in time to 2005 when my studio consisted of our dishwasher filled with art supplies and my dinning room table.

It’s hard for me to believe now but I actually had several books published during this time!

From Fanciful Paper Projects to Fanciful Paper Flowers and lots of other things in-between.

Then in 2011 I finally got a little room of my own to use as a studio and I filled it to the brim with things I love.

We hung a giant mirror on the wall to reflect the light and I covered an old black rolling office chair with linen and antique tapestries and ribbons.

Eventually the time came for me to turn all those beloved “things” into a line of RELICS & ARTIFACTS® Craft Blanks to share with you, my friends!

One thing about me, good or bad is that I am constantly evolving. I have a desperate need for change, maybe it comes from so much traveling…

But there are certain things that I will keep forever, items that are very special to me for a variety of reasons. See the Desk and Mirror here? Same ones as in the previous pictures, I gave the mirror a new coat of white and brown paint, painted it right in place!

Reinventing my surroundings revitalizes my work and allows me to experiment, to grow, to learn and to keep creating new art! Thanks for coming along on this journey with me.
