Icarus

$16.00

Icarus was the son of master craftsman Daedalus, the creator of the Labyrinth. Icarus attempts to escape from Crete on wings his father constructed from feathers and wax. His father tells him not to fly too low, the sea’s dampness would hinder flight and not to fly too high or the sun’s heat would melt them. The Greek tale sparked the idiom “Don’t fly too close to the sun.” The wings are separate from the body allowing for your personal preference on placement.

We are proud to announce each piece is handmade by artisans in the USA. Beautiful quality matte resin, cast from original, unique ancient, antique and rare objects. Any nuance is a scar of history and only adds to its charm. Body measure 3 1/8” ta;; x 1 1/8” wide x 1/2” deep with flat back. Wings measure 3 3/4” tall x 1 1/2” wide x a little over 1/8” deep.
