I modeled this Niño de las Nubes (Child of the Clouds) after a resplendent antique reliquary. The antique was absolutely poetic, with such lovely detail and so unusual. I just really loved the idea of recreating it and then bringing it to life with color. Envisioning it painted in saturated pastel tones of salmon, pinks, oranges, blues and soft yellow. Maybe even add a few subtle touches of lavender here and there. Or go in another in direction entirely with silvers, greys and a deep sapphire blue. This piece is larger and substantial with flat back.
