Sea shells are embedded in various cultures and religions. In some cultures the spiritual meaning of sea shells is they are believed to offer protection. Being that they serve as shelter for an array of sea creatures , signifying safe guarding and security. Scallop shells in particular also represent a physical journey, a sort of pilgrimage, a symbol of rebirth. In other cultures they represent tranquility, abundance, wealth, good fortune and spiritual growth. Handprints can be found in caves all over the world, our ancestors said, “I am here” combining the two creates a beautiful visual and spiritual sentiment. All good things.
