Stheno is one of the three Gorgon sisters. Stheno means strength. Medusa (meaning ruler or queen) and Euryale (meaning wide-leaping) are the other two sisters. In Greek mythology they are the daughters of the sea god Phorcys and his wife Ceto, they lived in the West near the setting sun.
