This is the first in a series of mini altars and decorative components inspired by the beautiful San Xavier mission outside of Tucson, Arizona. Masses of lavish ornamentation and statuary filled with heartfelt meaning and devotion are in abundance throughout the interior and exterior of the beautiful little church I attended as a child. In the wondrous tradition of Spanish Colonial architecture rich in detail with its fusion influences of Gothic, Mudejar, Plateresque and Churrigueresque comes our RELICS & ARTIFACTS® miniature version of a hand carved wooden altar. Paint it in subtle muted tones of terra cotta and adobe or deep vibrant color for maximum effect. Glue velvet to it. The back wall is the perfect canvas to showcase any variety of scenes.
