Bacchus was the Roman god of wine and fertility, equivalent to the Greek god Dionysius. Dionysius was said to be the last god to join the twelve Olympians. Hestia gave up her seat for him. His plants are vines and twirling ivy and he carries a pinecone-topped staff, his followers are goat-footed Satyrs and Maenads, wild women who dance energetically during his festivals. The son of Jupiter and a perfect addition to your art! A substantial piece with a flat back, cast in our propriety stone resin. This piece would be amazing adorning the back of a chair, bed headboard, dresser mirror or even a planter.
