Egyptian Scarab

$7.00

In ancient Egyptian religion, the sun god Ra is seen to roll across the sky each day, transforming bodies and souls. The Egyptians believed that Khepri renewed the sun everyday before rolling it above the horizon, then carried it through the other world after sunset, only to renew it, again the next day. The scarab was a symbol of immortality, transformation, resurrection and protection. It was used on amulets, rings, seals and other objects. Some scarabs were created to commemorate royal achievement. Our scarab is a tactile oblong shape with a flat bottom, cast in stone resin.
