Experiments fascinate me. The thrill of going into uncharted territory and not knowing the outcome may frighten a lot of people but to me it's a "dive right in" kind of thing. One thing does take me out of my comfort zone and that little thing is called Patience. Waiting kills me I tell you :Kills me!!!!
Regardless, here I went trying my hands at some Apoxie Sculpt medium, there goes the first twenty four hours! Playing with it I discovered not only that I liked it but that it performed flawlessly. After embossing it I draped it over the imperial egg and thought, wow, it looks like fabric! And hey I grew up with fabrics so I said why not? I'm going where the medium takes me and it wants to flow!
Inside I nestled a prayer, you know to make it a talisman, a piece of sacred jewelry. I embedded the words "Courage" and "Possibility" from the Tim Holtz Chit Chat collection. The next twenty four hours were spent letting the Ice Resin cure! I wanted to seal my pendant. Being a jewelry grade resin, it's just the perfect finish to protect your piece for years to come!
I thought the last twenty four hours were spent on the coolest experiment yet! Creating my own charms from common objects on my table and filling them up with tinted Ice Resin!
After making these beauties I needed yet another twenty four hours more! In the beginning I wanted to drill the beads but after popping them from their molds they were so yummy I just wanted to wrap them up and give them some love so I decided that in order to attach the wire to the bead I needed to do yet another ICE Resin® bath, I tell you it works like a dream! After that it was just a matter of putting it all together!
Sounds like a plan? Many of you have been watching the process on social media and have asked a lot of questions so we have put together a video for you. The perfect combination of RELICS & ARTIFACTS®, ICE Resin® and Apoxie Sculpt® is waiting for you, make it your own, I would love to see your takes on my tutorial!
