The Table of Life
Our place at the table, our moments together,
Even our time on this plot,
Can be fleeting,my friends,
So it's worth celebrating
Every second we've got.
Bring out the good china
When setting your table
And always leave room for more.
As you're pulling out chairs,
Welcome your guests
And remember whose been there before.
For whatever you bring to the table, friends,
however you entertain,
Wherever you've taken a seat ,my friends,
A part of you, there, remains.
This project began as a home decor idea- a simple place holder for our Thanksgiving table. It evolved into so much more. As I embellished the intricate wood pieces of the throne, I fondly remembered holidays of the past. While sculpting the pumpkin and thinking of the names to be placed on the parchments, I envisioned feasts of the future. What a gift this act of creation has become! Now THAT is something to be THANKFUL for!
Alternate ideas*
Instead of names on the parchment, try conversation starters or wishes for your guests! Try other holiday motifs in the thrones such as gifts for Christmas, eggs for Easter, etc. The possibilities are endless!
