My first Cassiopeia's Throne was an adorable piece named Christmas Morning, I played with Apoxie Sculpt to give you the feel of expensive fabric, a velvet throw and 2 sweet presents on top! So my best friend says: "Christmas? You seriously skipped Halloween this year?"
Fear not Halloween, you're always on my mind and for my next Throne I wanted to go all out into creepy mode! So we advertised my Live From the Tribe and usually mine pretty much go spontaneously. That was until I saw the advertisement for Kroma Crackle! The moment I saw it a spark ignited, I wanted to do a Mummy! Now you need to understand the way Kroma Crackle works, it needs time...And we had Mr. Hurricane Matthew lurking in the air, that meant humidity, lack of warmth and sun. So I went ahead of schedule and started my crackling process. You can see the video on the Tribe, Part 1 of this Project.
The actual day of the scheduled Live From The Tribe, turned into part 2 of this project, I realized I was overly ambitious and I ended up being 40 minutes on air and 5 hours later I was still working on it. But you can see the beginning of my clay work to transform the throne and the conversion of a few RELICS & ARTIFACTS® pieces into a properly scaled Mummy.
While I was working I kept thinking about how this Conquistador got mummified on his quest to get rich in the Americas... Also I was inspired by the Game of Thrones and how that throne melts all covered up in swords!
I prepared a Snapguide for you of the third part of the process you missed in my Live videos. I love that he turned out even scarier than I ever thought possible and that I got to share most of it Live with you!
