One day I was watching TV when all of a sudden several blocks, eyes and faces were thrust in front of me.
A voice said, "make something". That my friends, is the Muse. The Siren call to Create
I'm mostly a musician not a visual artist (although I had a gallery show in Austin, a story for another day) so "seeing" as part of the Creative process is trickier.
When talking about RELICS & ARTIFACTS® it's easy for me to step back and say, "they're so versatile you can do virtually anything with them".
But at first, when faced with these my mind drew a blank.
Luckily there is one thing I believe, limitations can actually unlock that Creative impulse inside of you.
"The more constraints one imposes, the more one frees one's self. And the arbitrariness of the constraint serves only to obtain precision of execution." This spoken by the Maestro, Igor Stravinsky
I had in my hands a finite number of Objects and Time.
In my Mind's Eye I saw these stacked tip to tip and sparsely enhanced with the faces and eyes.
Some of us may not claim to be Artists, but when we have the tools, materials and a spark of inspiration we can, for that moment, become Artists.
Special thanks to my Muse for the beautiful photographs.
