Art can be very personal-so when another creator sends you a piece to finish, they are actually sending you a little piece of themselves. That is precisely why, in a project like this FUSE collaboration, it is so important to try and respect your partner's work.
Maxi Moon
That brought me to thinking about ALL of the artists who've created throughout history- influencing the generations to come- paving the way for what we do today – our "Art Ancestors" if you will. And honoring that ancestry seems like a great concept for this FUSE. We each have creativity coursing through our veins- just like Vincent Van Gogh, Frida Kahlo and Jean Michel Basquiat.
Milagros C. Rivera
Milagros C. Rivera, Maxi Moon, and I each started by choosing an artist we wanted to pay homage to. Milagros picked Frida Kahlo, Maxi chose Vincent Van Gogh, and then there was me- and I selected Jean Michel Basquiat. I began two pieces which were sent to my partners- and a third piece which I completed myself.
I have to say I was blown away with the interpretations of his work by both Maxi and Milagros. And honored to collaborate with both of these talented ladies.
